Cherine + Dan Step Into The Limelight | The Florida Aquarium | Tampa, FL

Cherine and Dan met when they both joined a social bowling league and were randomly assigned to the same team. They both signed up for the league thanks to Facebook ads. Cherine had just moved to Tampa and was hoping to make some friends in her new city. She was initially assigned to a different team, but a few days before the first game, they moved her to Dan's team instead. While the leader of the league did his best to encourage socializing among other teams, everyone pretty much stuck with their own group. If Cherine hadn't been moved to the new team, it's very likely they never would've actually met. In addition to bowling, each week they had to fill out a sheet of trivia questions. Dan and Cherine would immediately pounce on those, since they were both much better at trivia than at bowling. They realized they were both lefties, Ravenclaws, and pretty darn nerdy -- bonding over their mutual love of Jurassic Park, Stranger Things, Harry Potter, etc.

They were friends for about six months before their first date on January 4th, 2020, when they decided to go see "Jurassic World Alive" at Amalie Arena. Cherine now affectionately refers to this as "dinosaurs on ice" (even though there was no ice involved) because it was reminiscent of a "Disney on Ice" show -- in that it was definitely geared toward kids, cheesy dialogue and all. It felt like they were the only adults there without children.

They had taken a little getaway trip to St. Augustine just before Christmas, and walked by several weddings that weekend. On the drive back, it was storming pretty badly, so Cherine asked Dan to chat with her more to distract me from lightning as she drove (she is terrified of lightning!).  They somehow started talking about when they were going to have kids, and Cherine said, “Perhaps we should talk about when we are going to get married first!” (She already had weddings on her mind from seeing several during our trip). The rest of the trip turned into them starting to plan our wedding! Cherine was excited about their conversation but didn't want to push it, but he brought it up again the next day and that's when they decided, “We're really doing this!!” They shopped for rings online together. Cherine was out with a friend when she got an email saying the ring had been delivered, so she checked the mailbox when she got home and saw it wasn't in there, but the rest of their mail was. The moment Cherine walked in the door, Dan ran toward her to try to get down on knee -- he had gotten the ring from the mailbox but left the rest of the mail in a (futile) attempt to surprise her. :)

It's just so easy when these two are together. In Cherine’s own words, “I love that I can completely be myself with him because we are so comfortable around each other. I never feel like I have to tone my personality down; I can act as strange as I want and he just goes along with it! He says he feels the same way, that we can just be our true selves with each other – and he added that he likes how I can get into giggle fits and be silly with him!:)”

They initially bonded over their love of certain pop culture things like Jurassic Park, Firefly, Harry Potter, etc. Together they love going to theme parks together (they have annual passes to Universal, Busch Gardens and Sea World), taking long walks by the Hillsborough River, and going out and exploring new places -- but they also really enjoy relaxing on the couch and binge-watching favorite shows too.

They wanted their wedding to be a reflection of who they are and what they love. They didn't want it to feel like just another generic wedding -- they wanted to have a unique, fun party that people would remember. They chose the Florida Aquarium as their venue because they love animals and really liked the idea of supporting a nonprofit instead of having their celebration in some hotel ballroom. Weddings are expensive, so at least their money is going to a good cause at the same time. Also, when they found out they could have penguins walk down the aisle at my ceremony, they were pretty much sold!

Cherine always wanted a dress that would look timeless, not something she would look back on in twenty years and have it feel dated. The bridesmaids' dresses were a dark teal color called "peacock" that went really well with the aquarium as well as their slight tropical décor. The blue ring Cherine wore on her right hand has her mom's ashes in it. Dan and his groomsmen wore dark grey suits with ties that match the bridesmaids’ dresses. Dan wore black and white cufflinks that have the Jurassic Park logo (the T-rex outline), and he and his groomsmen also wore socks with velociraptors on them. The groom’s wedding band is literally called "The Jurassic” -- made of agatized dinosaur bone, fossilized amber and ground meteorite.

Cherine and Dan both love Jurassic Park -- it's been Cherine’s favorite movie since she was a kid. They both even had Jurassic Park Trapper Keepers growing up (Cherine’s had the dilophosaurus on it)! So when Dan wore a Jurassic Park shirt (that said Isla Nublar on it) to bowling one night, Cherine just knew he was the right guy for her! Their very first date was seeing "Jurassic World Alive" at Amalie Arena, and during the pandemic, they went to the drive-in to watch the original Jurassic Park as well. So when it came to planning their wedding, they both knew pretty much immediately that they wanted that to be their theme. However, they didn't want it to be tacky or look like a 4-year-old's birthday party. So they instead opted for a "light" Jurassic Park theme with some tropical decor. But of course Cherine walked down the aisle to a piano version of the movie's theme song!

They were both so excited about seeing their "light Jurassic Park" vision come to fruition, and just overall really enjoyed having it be a fun day for themselves and their family and friends. They did not really want everything to be super serious, they wanted it to be a reflection of them.

They both love the aesthetic of the aquarium and how it'll be so different from any other wedding they have attended. Their ceremony will mainly be the same ceremony that Cherine’s mom used to perform. She was a wedding officiant for more than 30 years, and Cherine watched her do thousands of ceremonies. She passed away a few years ago, so Cherine absolutely wanted to have her ceremony on her wedding day.

Cherine and Dan made their own centerpieces. Instead of using flowers, they bought terrariums made of driftwood with glass bowls blown over the wood. Inside were pebbles, greenery, succulents, and small gold dinosaurs. Rather than using charger plates, they had monstera leaves at each place setting.

Their wedding was a fun, unique, and memorable experience. Cherine has a memorial table and an empty seat for her mom, since it is very important to her that she was honored during the ceremony. For the reception, they were so excited for their guests to see the centerpieces and the 3-D LED dance floor they rented along with a hologram message and cold spark fountains. And because music is really important to them, they wanted to be sure the party felt like a throwback to their late high school and early college years -- that meant plenty of late 90s and early 2000s music!

Michelle + Ben Step Into The Limelight | Esplanade Golf and Country Club | Lakewood Ranch, FL

These two are the definition of FUN! You can really tell they always have fun together no matter what they're doing. They are very clearly both committed to building a life together and putting in the effort to make their dreams a reality. Michelle and Ben met in St. Kitt where they were completing Veterinary  School and incorporated that into their table signs by naming each table after a place there. Ben's cuff links and tie clip were his Grandfather's, and they looked stunning on him. Their signature cocktails featured their two pets and let them become a part of Michelle and Ben’s big day. You could really see their love for animals in the little details throughout the reception! Their photo booth and guest book were stars of the show as that area was full the entire evening with people enjoying themselves and celebrating the beautiful couple. Their families pitched in with designing the space as Ben's mom hand made all the table signs and Ben and his dad built the arch used during the ceremony!

These two have a wonderful future ahead of them, and I can’t wait to see all the big things life has in store for them as a couple. They were truly some of the most genuinely kind people I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Lindsey + Alvin Step Into The Limelight | The Westin Sarasota | Sarasota, FL

get to know Lindsey & Alvin…

How/when did you meet each other: We met in December 2019 through eHarmony. Our first date was at Riverhouse Waterfront on the marina. What we thought would be an awkward first date turned into 6 hours of conversation and genuine laughter. When asked about our first date, Alvin remembers hearing God say, "Peace be still." We made our relationship official on our our third date after Alvin planned a full day of surprises in St. Pete.

How did he propose: Alvin planned a weekend for us. It started out with a spa day for Lindsey to relax and de-stress. He then chartered a sail boat and captain on Tampa Bay. The waters were very choppy, so he waited to propose after the sailing trip. We then went to lunch and all of our parents were at the restaurant waiting to celebrate with us.

What do you love about each other: Alvin loves Lindsey's heart and caring nature, her thoughtfulness, her beauty, intelligence and sense of humor, how she balances him out and keeps him focused and grounded, and he loves that God chose her for him.
Lindsey loves Alvin's thoughtfulness and dedication to God, how he is always intentional in showing that he cares for her. She loves how he always makes her laugh and supports her in difficult times. Even when things seem to be going all wrong, he is still there to be in it with her, even if he can't fix it. She loves how he loves his family and friends and always goes above and beyond to help them. She loves his wisdom and how he keeps her balanced and focused on God and the things that matter most.

Interests/hobbies you enjoy doing together:: We enjoy planning surprises for each other even when there is no special occasion. We also enjoy buying each other random gifts just because. We enjoy spending quality time together, whether it be watching HGTV at home, taking long drives, and trying new restaurants.

Describe the overall story for your wedding: Our wedding is about God's plan. We both waited a long time for God to bring us into each other's lives and we are looking forward to sharing our story and celebrating His plan with our loved ones. We want the peace that God has placed in our relationship from the beginning to fill our ceremony and for His joy to fill our reception.

Lindsey & Alvin’s wedding day was filled with so much LOVE and beautiful moments. We loved hoe Lindsey made sure to include each person in a special way, every person she encountered means the world to her and Lindsey made sure to show her appreciation with very thoughtful and sweet gifts (I think Lindsey’s love language is “gift giving”, just saying lol).

When Lindsey saw Alvin… it all made sense, we LOVED seeing how much Alvin appreciates Lindsey’s love. You guys, just the way Alvin looks at Lindsey… pure love. The two are meant for each other.

We wish both Lindsey & Alvin all the happiness and joy in the world.

‘May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.’ Numbers 6:24-26 NLT

Alyssa + Justin Step Into The Limelight | St. Paul Catholic Church + Tampa River Center | Tampa, FL

Where to begin with Alyssa and Justin!! They were seriously one of the sweetest couples ever, and it was evident Justin would do anything to make Alyssa happy. For his proposal he had hired a photographer and had planned to take Alyssa to one of the peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains to see the sunrise, but when they got there the main entrance was closed! Justin somehow found another way up the mountain and was able to get in touch with the photographer despite the bad service, resulting in the most PERFECT proposal! That’s no surprise because their entire wedding day was perfect too. They had their ceremony at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, and even had special sponsors help them perform a beautiful Philippine wedding tradition.  Then they  made their way downtown to their reception at the amazing Tampa River Center.  There they had the sweetest choreographed dance that literally felt like it came out of a Disney movie! They continued dancing the night away to the Matt Winter Band to end their night. I truly don’t think they stopped smiling at each other the whole day! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Scheib! I know if you guys continue looking at each other the way you did on your wedding day,  you will have endless days of love ahead ❤️

Nicole + Brian Jr. Step Into The Limelight | Postcard Inn | St. Petersburg, FL

a little about Nicole & Brian ❤︎

How/when did you meet each other: Seven years ago, it all started with a beer *literally* and a shot of Jamo. He was a happy hour reg at my bar and I can honestly say I remember the first day Sue (the AM bartender) transferred me his tab. Those blue eyes pulled me right in. Not to mention how handsome he is/was. I definitely “chased” him, the girls i worked with at the time knew and would always come tell me when “my boyfriend” was at the outside bar, so naturally I’d have to hop out there and do a lap and say whats up. ;)

How did he propose: 11/11/2018- we were getting ready to leave for Tampa to see a BUCCs game.We were at our apartment, JUST US. He was being off- I remember questioning 'Why are you being so weird and nice to me right now?!’ And next thing I knew, he was rambling and I could tell he was beyond nervous, so I figured out what was going on.. He knows I NEVER would've liked anything in front of a bunch of people and he surprised me! I'd say he fricken nailed it, and he could NOT have done better at choosing the most perfect ring, that was exactly what I didn't know I always wanted.

What do you love about each other: He’s my doer, the “rock/rational” one- I keep him/us organized and day to day schedules/bills “locked-in” He truly does make me feel like I am the only woman he sees <3 and is in fact,“My favorite” <3

Interests/hobbies you enjoy doing together: hanging/drinking with friends and fam.Watching football- EAGLES BABY! Brian is a BUCCS fan- we’ve watched each of our teams win a Superbowl together!! We

spend A LOT of time hanging/playing with our nephews (Ben&J.J) Watching Criminal Minds and countless other TV shows.

Pre-Covid- I suppose you could say we enjoyed traveling. B/w weddings, beach parties & bridal AND baby showers. From late 2016-2019 we made MULTIPLE trips to NJ (quite a few in which we drove) Costa Rica, Maryland, Kentucky, and Tampa. We were NON-STOP & always had the next adventure planned.

Describe the overall story for your wedding:The wait… Has felt wayyyy tooo long- especially with COVID and having to postpone. We kept 11/11 as our date, because it was the date that Brian proposed and once we decided to “roll with it”, we were sticking to it! I also previously looked into the meaning behind 11/11 - 11:11 - and to summarize some of the answers I came across - A perfect moment to start a new chapter in your life. A moment when you need to make huge, life-changing decisions and be fearless. A great time to embrace unique qualities- individuality. JUST DO YOU! You are being sent the energy of wisdom and positivity.

Inspiration for your wedding location and theme: The first time Brian took me out of my comfort zone, early on in our relationship, he swept me away to St Pete to meet his friends (Best man, Ryan included) he brought me to PCI- 99% of our beach trips over the past 7 years have been to PCI.Typically we’d hang at the beach bar/on the beach and wait to watch the sunset and then head home. So, one day- after we were engaged and sitting at the beach bar at PCI - we had a moment and said ‘Why don’t we just get married here?!’ and have been planning our garden ceremony, beach(ish) wedding ever since.

Nicole & Brian’s day was absolutely perfection… it was beachy, casual and mostly fun! We loved getting to know these two and their families, we wish Nicole & Brian ALL that is good. Congratulations!
