Laurel + Christopher Step Into The Limelight | St. Petersburg Yacht Club | St. Petersburg, FL

OMG you guys… meet Laurel & Christopher {in their own words}

HER STORY

BEST FIRST DATE EVER!

Chris and I met in true millennial fashion – on Bumble! I had just moved to Washington, D.C. for my internship at the Department of Justice in January 2018 and Chris was coaching at St. Albans and the National Cathedral School. Our first date started out at brunch in Chinatown and ended SIX hours later in Georgetown (Chris here- want to note that she was late)! We were at the restaurant so long they told us they had to take our table to rearrange for their evening set up. We didn’t want to part ways just yet so we ended up heading to the Verizon Center and then to a movie theater in Georgetown to see I, Tonya. By the time we got out it was night time! Neither of us planned for the date to last that long, the day just kind of flew by! We talked about going to SEC schools, our friends and families, both of our love of the Olympics, Chris’ plan to move to Florida someday (little did he know…), and everything else under the sun! It felt like we were already old friends and not the perfect strangers that we were. When I got home I remember thinking it was the best day ever, and I actually called my mom to tell her! In the weeks that followed we watched the 2018 Sochi Olympics together, visited tons of museums and monuments, attended Caps/Bolts and Wizards games, I got to meet many of Chris’ friends (including Colin and Grace), Chris got to meet my brother Mitch and my sorority sister Tory (now a bridesmaid), Chris showed me my first snow day, we binge-watched Friends during a government shutdown, I introduced Chris to the Bachelor, we saw the Cherry Blossoms, I met Chris’ parents, and we celebrated Valentine’s Day and Easter together! He made my time in D.C. an absolute blast and I very quickly realized that I found my best friend! When my internship ended, I moved back to Florida for my law school graduation and to study for the bar. Chris came down for my graduation and met a lot of my extended family, and visited me over the summer while I was studying (and ran flash cards with me), but he was still living in D.C. He said he was worried what would happen with us living across the country from each other, but I always felt like things would work out. Things always do when it is your soulmate! We took a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia for my birthday after the bar exam was over and on our trip Chris got a job offer in St. Pete! Sure enough, by Labor Day Chris was Florida’s newest resident. And the rest I guess you can say is history!

HIS STORY

BUMBLE SUCCESS STORY

Laurel and I met on Bumble (which I now own a share of) back in the beginning of 2018. It’s the dating app where the woman has to make the initial contact after you match, and after going to an all boys high school this was great for me! After talking back and forth for a few days I asked Laurel out on a date to meet in person. Funnily enough I was in Laurel, Maryland working at a swim meet at the time! We planned to go to brunch because she’d said she loves breakfast food and D.C. has great brunch spots. We met for brunch in Chinatown (at a place that was introduced to me by Colin, a groomsman). I was on time to the date and had to wait an exorbitant amount for Laurel (Laurel here- this is not true, I was under 5 minutes late due to traffic for a Caps game). We shared breakfast pizza, a few mimosas, and somehow a few hours later we ended up at a movie across town in Georgetown. The time flew by and we never ran out of things to talk about. I was a little worried though because she fell asleep at one point during the movie, but I figured she’d stuck around for a long time up to that point so hopefully that was still a good sign (Laurel here- it had been a long day with a lot of mimosas, give me a break). Obviously, I can confidently say now that things worked out. It really was the best date I’d ever been on and really didn’t feel like it had been 6 hours at all! My longest first date turned out to be my best and my last. I should put that on a bumper sticker. We spent a ton of time together in the months that followed while she was in D.C. exploring every part of the city. Funnily enough, even though I am from there, there was a lot of stuff I hadn’t seen or done. And there is something special about being able to show and experience your city with someone new to it and who you love. We became best friends and had a blast. Soon Laurel had to head home to Florida to graduate and study for the bar and I was still at home. I had always wanted to move to Florida (especially because D.C. is too cold) and had lots of family there. I also never felt like I had ever locked down something super permanent in D.C. and maybe there was a reason for that. So I worked hard and found a job in St. Pete by the end of the summer! At first I thought I would be concerned or anxious about moving my life down to Florida, but I actually felt a sense of calm. I guess that is because it was meant to be! I was greeted with a great welcome (complete with a sign Laurel made for me) and immediately I knew I was where I was supposed to be. Fast forward a few years, Bumble went public and I became a shareholder, and I got to ask my best friend to marry me. I think that’s definitely a #bumblesuccessstory #sway

Carly + Ryan Step Into The Limelight | THE RESORT AT LONGBOAT KEY CLUB | SARASOTA, FL

Fun, classy, elegant, seamless

Carly and Ryan both were student athletes at the university of Florida and met out at a bar at Techno Tuesday in the springtime when both of their teams had a rare midweek off day. Ironically, they ran into each other in the student athlete study hall earlier that day and didn’t speak to each other, haha! They love their little family and life they’ve built together in NC with their pup. They love that they can be totally themselves and goofy and not take life so seriously. Together they enjoy hiking with Bambino or even just going for walks around the neighborhood together (they call them family walks), cooking and traveling.

They were in Asheville, NC and hiking the Triple Falls trail in DuPont National Forest. They we got to the first waterfall and Ryan proposed! He nearly slipped on the wet rocks. It was the best because their pup Bambino got to be there and was in all the pictures!

Carly and Ryan always dreamed of a beach wedding! Their wedding was fun and casual but still classy and elegant. The story reflected their personalities - they know how to have fun and not be so serious all the time, but can still be put together, classy, and poised! The wedding had a beachy vibe yet it was classic, luxurious and elegant. They are both pretty easy going people and their beach wedding spoke to their personalities in that sense. They also loved their venue and truly believe it is just the absolute best and will trump all other wedding venues!

A really cool DIY project was incorporated into their wedding. They made sand dollars with their wedding date and location on the back for favors. They had a string to hang as a Christmas ornament for people to remember their day every holiday season.

Elizabeth + Nick Step Into The Limelight | Hotel Haya | Tampa, FL

Happy. Engaged. Welcomed.

Elizabeth and Nick met the old fashion way online, and had their first date on 9/6/2018.

About three years later on September 17, 2021 they did an early morning 7-mile hike in Sedona, Arizona on Devils Bridge together. This was day two of an eleven day, three state trip. Elizabeth later learned that her super punny future hubby was pulling one over on her, when he asked if she wanted to go across the street to the Mescal Trail and find the “perfect rock” to sit on and eat their lunch. There were no rocks, barely any trees. Just clay and heat. Somehow, he managed to find a rock that they attempted to squish their bottoms on together. Like usual, he gave her one of his Airpods and he had in the other. He put on her favorite – Dierks Bentley. She was unpacking their lunch, and as they were eating their wraps, staring out at an incredible view, her rubbing his back – she got super teary eyed behind her glasses. “Living” was what was playing…she said to him something along the lines of, “I know you’re going to make fun of me, but I’m secretly crying behind my glasses. We have such an awesome life, look at what we’re looking at, and it’s only day two of our trip.” She proceeded to keep eating, and then he said, “do you remember that nuclear bomb I told you that I had on you?” She couldn’t forget... He had been talking about it for years. She thought she had done something really stupid or embarrassing and he recorded her or something. Nope. He gave her his phone (that was playing the music) and he said, “go to a video from our first date.” She said, “like the anniversary of our first date four years ago, like last week?” He said, “no, our first date.” She said, “the only picture we took on our first date was one I took of the veins popping out of your temple.” So she scrolled back to September 6, 2018 – and there it was...the nuclear bomb. She hit play, Dierks stopped – and the audio was now accompanying a selfie video of Nick, on his way to their first date. PS – Nick hates taking photos, selfies, you name it. He went on to say some things along the lines of, “I have no idea why I am doing this, but I am going on a first date with this girl Elizabeth, and something just feels different about it.” He went on to say a few other things too. So now clearly, she is crying even more behind her glasses. What she doesn’t see happening in her peripheral is Nick going in their backpack, pulling out a ring box, and plopping his knee in the dirt. Apparently, he asked her to marry him, and she didn’t hear it. She wasn’t able to process what was happening. Then she heard, “was that a yes?” So of course, she said yes!! They hugged, they kissed, and she only made him take one photo! Sweaty, no makeup, private. Couldn’t have been a more perfect proposal for the two of them.

They selected Hotel Haya in Ybor City for their wedding so they could show off their town, celebrate their union, and enjoy their family and friends. A killer venue with history and charm, and they love Ybor. It was a perfect setting for their Vintage Old Florida wedding. It was classy and elegant with dark greens, citrus oranges and magnolias.

Nick restored a 50-year old family ’65 Chevy that they took pics with, and used for their getaway.

The couple incorporated citrus decoupage oyster shells for each guest, dehydrated citrus for the name cards and florals. Cocktail napkins of their pups were on the bars with cigars.

Jake: "I love her smile & big beautiful eyes. How she is such a caring person and has the biggest heart in the world. She also has such great work ethic".

Mackenzie & Jakob both do social media for a living. Mackenzie part time & Jakob does it full time, so they love creating content together to post online and they make a great team , helping each other reach their career goals together. They love spending time with their best friends & family. Mackenzie & Jakob love going to the lake house or just chilling together watching Youtube or a show.

Ever since Mackenzie was in 4th grade, her family has been going to St. Petersburg annually for vacation. She always saw how pretty the weddings were on the beach so it was always been her dream to get married in St. Petersburg as well… knowing this information, Jakob seized the opportunity and even surprised Mackenzie with a trip to Florida for her birthday in 2021 and proposed to her in St. Petersburg on her birthday!

Mackenzie & Jakob’s wedding day was simple, delicate and elegant. The Florida sunset for their wedding day was like a painting… pure perfection! They truly made sure to enjoy each moment and take it all in… it was a lovely day! We wish Mackenzie & Jakob many beautiful sunsets together, making new memories together now as Mr. & Mrs! Cheers 💛

¡Familia por Siempre!

We so loved meeting these two souls… their wedding day was full of love, laughter and most importantly familia! We were able to witness their love for one another and the joy their families bring to Alexsandra & Mauricio. Their wedding day was a true ¡fiesta! with sooo much dancing and good music.

Alexsandra & Mauricio met each other while working together at Marshall’s and from then on… they have loved laughing together and have enjoyed their connection with their families. Mauricio loves how hard working Alexsandra is and Alexsandra loves that Mauricio can cook! (can I get an amen!) They enjoy watching movies together, going to Disney, trying new restaurants, spoiling their dog Lil and traveling.

They incorporated Mauricio’s roots by performing a bilingual Ceremony in English & Spanish and we cannot forget “La Hora Loca”during their reception! (SO.MUCH.FUN!).

Alexsandra & Mauricio love effortlessly and we LOVE that about them, we wish them so much MORE amor and amazing adventures together.

¡Felicidades a la linda pareja!
