A Timeless Celebration in Tampa

Elise and Tyler have known each other since fifth grade, but it wasn’t until five years ago that their story as a couple began. What followed was a relationship grounded in ease, shared values, and a love for the simple joys like cooking dinner together, traveling, and always choosing each other.

Tyler proposed during a trip to Switzerland, over a quiet picnic in Lauterbrunnen, with waterfalls in every direction. It was thoughtful, personal, and perfectly them.

Originally planned for the Rusty Pelican, their wedding was relocated to the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel due to unexpected hurricane damage. With the help of their coordinator, Brittany, the day came together seamlessly.

The ceremony took place outside in the hotel’s courtyard, officiated by Elise’s uncle. Guests gathered in the open air as the couple exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by greenery and sunshine. After portraits by the fountain, everyone moved inside to the ballroom for dinner and dancing.

Elise took a moment after dinner to thank everyone for being there and gave a special, heartfelt thank you to Brittany, who helped them navigate the last-minute venue change with care and dedication.

The evening continued with a private cake cutting and then straight into the celebration. One of the standout moments came when “Sugar, We’re Going Down” played, an all time favorite of Elise’s, setting the tone for a fun, energetic night. The celebration closed on a high note with “Mr. Brightside,” as guests formed a circle around the newlyweds, bubbles filling the air while everyone sang along. It was the perfect ending to a day that felt personal, relaxed, and full of love.

From the moment I met Blair and Steven, I could feel their deep bond—calm, easygoing, and full of genuine joy. As the lead photographer for Limelight Photography, I often witness incredible love stories, but theirs stood out as something truly special. Their wedding day was the perfect blend of intimacy, emotion, and relaxed coastal charm—everything they had dreamed of.

Their love story began in the most unexpected way: though they had gone to school together their whole lives, it wasn’t until a chance encounter while duck hunting in 2022 that they reconnected. A month later, they started chatting—and from there, “the rest is history,” as Blair sweetly puts it. Their proposal story was equally serendipitous. While on a family trip to Yellowstone, Steven found the perfect moment by a quiet waterfall, away from the crowds. With just Blair’s family nearby, he proposed in the most heartfelt and personal way, asking for forever in a place filled with natural beauty.

Their wedding day echoed that same simplicity and sincerity. Set at the gorgeous DoubleTree by Hilton Tampa Rocky Point Waterfront, with the celebration continuing at Whiskey Joe’s, the day felt more like a vacation with loved ones than a traditional wedding—exactly as they envisioned. The ceremony was intimate, with only immediate family gathered by the water. Everyone was dressed in light, breezy styles—florals for the women and khaki or linen for the men—reflecting the couple’s love for the outdoors and the ocean.

Blair’s minimal and elegant vision came to life with touches of white and greenery that complemented the waterfront setting perfectly. Their ceremony was peaceful and filled with meaning, and after the vows, we took time to capture timeless family portraits and heartfelt moments with those closest to them.

Later in the day, we headed over to Whiskey Joe’s for the golden hour photos, and let me just say—wow. The soft, glowing light reflecting off the water created the dreamiest backdrop for their couple portraits. Their joy and connection came through effortlessly, and these images became some of my favorites of the entire day. As someone who specializes in wedding photography in Tampa Florida, golden hour at Whiskey Joe’s is an absolute dream to photograph.

Donna + Casey Step Into The Limelight | St. Lawrence Catholic Church + Higgins Hall | Tampa, FL

Donna and Casey’s Wedding: A Beautiful Celebration of Love and Joy

Having had the privilege of photographing Donna and Caseys engagement session in Gainesville earlier this year, where they first met and fell in love, it felt incredibly special to be part of their wedding day. Their story, filled with love, joy, and meaningful connections, was beautifully reflected throughout the entire celebration.

The day began with an intimate first look at Cancer Survivors Park, just minutes from the ceremony venue. Donna, radiant in her bridal gown, stood surrounded by vibrant red bougainvillea flowers. She first shared this tender moment with her father. Then Donna and Casey had their own first look. Donna could barely contain her excitement as she tapped Casey on the shoulder, their excitement was truly infectious. 

Following the first look, the couple and their families gathered for portraits at the St Lawrence church grounds. The atmosphere was filled with love, making for beautiful family photos that would be cherished for years to come.

The ceremony at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa was a beautiful and sacred occasion. The church itself, with its timeless beauty, created the perfect backdrop as Donna and Casey exchanged their vows. There is something deeply moving about witnessing a couple pledge their love and commitment in such a meaningful setting. The sacredness of the ceremony, the vows, and the exchange of rings reflected their strong faith and the lifelong promises they were making to one another.

Following the ceremony, the reception at Higgins Hall was a lively and vibrant celebration. The disco theme brought a sense of fun and energy to the evening. Donna and Casey’s first dance was a joyful throwback to the 1960s, setting the tone for the rest of the night. The father-daughter and mother-son dances that followed were beautiful, honoring their families and the love that surrounds them.

The reception was filled with laughter and lots of dancing. There was a photo booth, which was a hit, providing guests with a chance to capture fun group moments. The entire event was a testament to Donna and Casey’s love for each other and their shared joy in being surrounded by their loved ones.

Capturing Donna and Casey’s wedding was truly a privilege. Their love story, filled with moments of joy, faith, and connection, was a beautiful celebration, and I am grateful to have been able to document it. Wishing them both a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless memories.

Mariana and Austin’s wedding was the perfect blend of elegance, joy, and waterfront magic, unfolding in two of Tampa’s most beautiful locations.

The day began at the stylish and charming Hotel Haya in the heart of Ybor City. With its modern touches and vintage soul, the hotel set the tone for a day full of love and celebration. Mariana got ready surrounded by her closest friends, laughter echoing through the suite as makeup brushes swept and champagne flutes clinked. Meanwhile, Austin was just a few floors away, calm and collected, sharing a toast with his groomsmen as the anticipation built.

Their first look took place in the beautiful ballroom hall of Hotel Haya. a moment that felt both intimate and cinematic. As Austin turned to see Mariana for the first time in her gown, time seemed to pause. Their smiles, the soft breeze, the golden Tampa light, it was everything a first look should be: raw, emotional, and unforgettable.

From there, the celebration moved to the water aboard the Yacht StarShip, where the ceremony and reception took place. As guests boarded, they were greeted with panoramic views of Tampa Bay, setting the scene for a sunset ceremony unlike any other. Surrounded by water, with the city skyline in the background, Mariana and Austin exchanged vows on the top deck as the sun dipped low and cast a golden glow over everything.

Once they were officially husband and wife, the party truly began. The Yacht StarShip transformed into a floating celebration — dining, dancing, and starlit moments shared with loved ones. The breeze, the music, the sparkle in everyone’s eyes — it was a night of joy that no one wanted to end.

From the timeless elegance of Hotel Haya to the romantic cruise on the bay, Mariana and Austin’s wedding was more than just a day, it was a story, a dream, and a beautiful beginning!!

There’s something so special about couples who are simply and deeply comfortable with each other — and Haley and Tyler embody that beautifully. From the moment I met them at Armature Works on their wedding day, I could feel the calm confidence they bring to their relationship — grounded, easy, and full of joy.

Their wedding was the perfect reflection of who they are: classic, laid-back, and deeply in love. From neutral florals to black-tie attire, every element felt intentional. The ceremony took place indoors at the beautiful Armature Works. As a Tampa photographer who’s captured many weddings in this beautiful city, I can honestly say this Tampa wedding venue was the perfect backdrop for this kind of relaxed, timeless celebration.

What stood out most was the way they looked at each other — especially as Haley walked down the aisle. That moment, with their loved ones surrounding them, was pure magic. Capturing those wedding candids and emotional reactions is what I love most about photojournalistic photography — real, unscripted moments that tell the heart of the story.

Haley and Tyler’s vows were filled with tenderness and laughter. And when it came time for their first dance during the reception, you could see just how much fun they have together — always exploring, always laughing, always in sync. They’re self-proclaimed foodies who love discovering new restaurants and adventures together, and that same energy was felt throughout the evening as they danced the night away with friends and family.

From the black-tie palette to the simple yet elegant table settings and florals, everything was beautifully curated without feeling overdone. Their vision of a timeless, yet modern style came to life effortlessly, creating a warm, emotional atmosphere that made guests feel excited, happy, and deeply moved.
