Sweet words from the bride Heidi:
A Cinco De Mayo to remember!
Tom and I met at a Mortgage Professionals Golf Tournament on Cinco De Mayo. I invited Tom with the intention of networking and hoping to build a business relationship. I ended up with the love of my life and a love story I will never forget.
About a month before the tournament I met Jolie, who is a realtor in Tom’s office. We had recently worked together on a deal and originally I had asked her to attend the tournament. She said she wasn’t much of a golfer and suggested that I ask a friend in her office instead. Little did I know that Jolie was playing matchmaker and had told Tom she thought we'd hit it off. We’d both been saying the same thing “there’s no good guys/girls left”.
I almost didn't call him not wanting to spend 18 holes with a stranger. The thought of small talk for an entire day sounded miserable but this was a new job and my new boss was going to be there. I was supposed to bring someone relevant to our industry so I worked up my courage and ended up calling him a few days before the event and left a voicemail. Funny that he still has it saved to this day.
May 5th rolled around and Tom and became fast friends. The conversation was easy and immediately I felt at ease with him. By the third hole we were swapping match.com date stories and by the 18th hole we were planning our next adventure. It may have taken us all of 3 weeks to figure out we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and we could not be more happy to share in this special day with all of you.
The Proposal!
I popped the question at the Don CeSar Resort on St. Pete Beach! It was our birthday weekend and I surprised Heidi the morning of our trip that I switched our room from Postcard Inn to the Don because it was her big 3-5 bday! I set up a couples massage that day for us to set the tone and get relaxed. After an amazing couples massage and lunch/pool day/drinks (but not too many!)...we got ready for what she thought was a dinner down the street. Instead, I told her we should go down to the pool for a drink and then take a stroll on the beach before dinner. Little did she know, I was just delaying her to drop on one knee on the beach.
Behind the scenes I had lots of help from her sister/Matron of Honor- Holli on coordinating our families to get rooms down there and also to be there for the surprise as well. Holli used her Ninja-like moves to be invisible down on the beach to be able to take all the pictures of the surprise proposal. After Heidi said YES, we went up to the Don restaurant where our families were there to Surprise her.
What a celebration it was! Between the best day of my life to celebrating both of our birthday's, it's a day that we both will never forget!
And let me tell you! The love these two posses for each other is a beautiful sight to see!
From the First Look to Tom’s remarkable Karaoke performance during their reception. They could not stop starring at each other! We LOVED being there to witness each moment unfold. Each detail was impeccably done and LOVE was all around. Fun they had! Tom should be an entertainer! He had that room on fire with excitement and Heidi’s sweetness is just what Tom needs… Thank you for having us Tom & Heidi, we wish you ALL the best.
